Are you out of birthday party ideas for your kids? This year, host your children’s birthday parties in your backyard. You already have a hot tub and room for everyone to hang out. All you need are a few snacks, a few fun games and a few helpers as you host a great kids’ hot tub party.
Choose a Theme
Your child may have a party theme in mind, especially if he or she is into a specific super hero or sport. If the party guest of honor doesn’t have a preference, let your imagination run wild and consider one of these themes:
- Pretty in Pink
- Beach
- Pets
- Race cars
- Black and White
With your theme, buy matching invitations, decorations and paper products that tie everything together.
Plan the Snacks
The kids at your party will be hungry, so choose snacks that satisfy all your guests’ cravings and nutritional needs. Party mix, a vegetable tray and fruit are popular treats. Water, lemonade or fruit smoothies keep the guests hydrated throughout the party.
Along with the food and beverages, provide wet wipes or a portable hand washing station the kids can use to wipe their hands and mouths. You’ll also need a trash can or two to keep your back yard neat.
Supervise the Hot Tub
Young kids can’t spend too long in the hot tub because they overheat quickly. Give each child a chance to enjoy the hot tub, and provide proper supervision.
While the kids enjoy the hot tub, protect the cover by setting it against the house. It’s sturdy and keeps your hot tub clean, but hot tub covers are easily damaged if they’re stepped or sat on by enthusiastic party guests.
Plan Games
Every party needs games. Designate an area of your yard for games all the kids can enjoy. Popular party games include:
- Piñata
- Three legged race
- Scavenger hunt
- Hopscotch
- Ping pong
- Card games
With your theme, snacks, games and hot tub ready to go, you’re prepared to host a great kids’ party in your backyard. And best of all, your hot tub welcomes you to relax when the party’s over.
Happy Tubbing!
