Hot tub party – 9 Good Manners

I love hosting backyard parties when I can relax with guests and enjoy warm summer nights. Plus, I must admit, I like showing off my hot tub. Guests don’t always exercise good etiquette, though. Here’s my list of nine manners you should follow when you’re invited to a backyard hot tub party.

Hot tub party1. Always supervise your kids. This etiquette rule should be a no-brainer, but you’d be surprised how many parents grab a quick drink and assume someone else will watch their kids. Please watch your kids at all times!

2. Bring your own towel. I love hosting parties, but I don’t love washing piles of wet towels after you go home.

3. Shower and wipe your feet before climbing into the hot tub. The Pros recommend the hot tub stays detergent and lotion free so it operates properly and stays clean. I set up a small shower station in a corner of my backyard and a foot mat in front of the tub so please use them.

4. Step in slowly. Jumping into the hot tub isn’t cool or safe. Relax and take your time entering and exiting the hot tub so all my guests can enjoy the evening.

5. Don’t hog the jets. Sure, they’re relaxing, but everyone else wants a turn too.

6. Don’t take pictures. You want to show off your new bikini or abs, but no one wants to see these photos. Respect other party attendees when you reserve your camera for non-hot tub shots.

7. Don’t pee in the tub. That’s just gross! I have indoor plumbing I’m happy to share with you.

8. Enjoy the food and drinks, but don’t drink too much alcohol. It affects your judgment, and you become dehydrated or pass out while relaxing in the hot tub.

9. Help me clean up after the party. I appreciate guests who help me replace the hot tub cover and throw trash away.

Now that you know basic hot tub party manners, check your inbox for an invitation to my next party! We’ll have a great time together relaxing in my backyard.

Happy Tubbing!
