If you have a hot tub, you might as well use it when you feel frisky, want to reconnect with your partner after a busy week or plan to celebrate a special anniversary. Enjoy an evening of romance with these tips from the Pros.
Turn up the Heat
We’re not talking about your body temperature–you don’t need our help for that. We Pros are talking about setting the water temperature at a level that’s comfortable for both of you. You won’t feel like fooling around if you’re freezing or roasting.
Ideally, take off the hot tub cover, turn the hot tub to 100 degrees and test the temperature by sticking your wrist in the water. Then, feel free to turn the temp up or down. You may want to turn the temp down in the summertime and turn it up when the weather’s cold.
Turn Down the Lights
Romantic lighting sets the mood for romance. Before the evening begins, set candles on a table or baker’s shelf near the hot tub. You could also hang electric lamps on hooks near your spa to enhance your experience.
Enjoy Romantic Music
Enhance the mood with whatever music turns you on. Create a playlist on your iPod, smartphone or stereo, turn the volume to a comfortable level and set the device near enough that you can hear it but far enough away that it won’t fall into the water.
Serve Romance
Food provides romantic inspiration, so choose a few satisfying but light selections to share with your lover. Place the foods and beverages in an ice bucket within reach, and feed each other these suggested refreshments:
- Passion fruit, pineapple, grapes or other finger fruits
- Vegetable sticks
- Champagne
- Cocktails
- Frozen popsicles
- Cold water
Lubricate Your Play Time
Waterproof lube works well in the bedroom, but you need a waterproof lubricant for the hot tub. It’s perfect for massages and other romantic underwater activities.
No matter what romantic activities you have planned, your hot tub provides the perfect place for fun. Try a few of these tips we Pros recommend, or create your own fun times in the spa!
