Kiddie Fondue and DIY Ice Cream Sandwich recipe
In these busy times, with working moms a growing breed, family time has thus turned into a sporadic if not a rare occasion. Like the saying that goes, “the family that prays together, stays together”, so does the family that eats together, plays together and so forth and so on.
Personally, I find truly engaging conversations key to keeping beloved relationships going. Hence, taking the concept of the family that eats together a notch higher, why not whip up a recipe or two, together? Recipes that are fun, easy and definitely SWEET! Here are 2 recipes that do just that.
Kiddie Fondue – Kids will be delighted with the chocolate while you’ll be happy with them eating their essential fruit!
You will need:
- ½ cup Dark Chocolate
- 1 tbsp sugar or to taste
- A platter of fresh fruits, chopped up
- Bamboo skewers or long handled forks
Here’s how:
- In a double boiler, put in the Dark Chocolate. If you do not have one you can whip up something like this from a mason jar and a saucepan
- Bring the heat slowly up to a boil, then back down to a simmer.
- Mix in the sugar and keep stirring the chocolate until it is all melted evenly.
- Ease each chopped piece of fruit onto the bamboo skewers or long handled forks.
- When that’s done, take out the jar and serve with your colorful fruit skewers.
- Serve while chocolate is hot.
DIY Ice Cream Sandwich – Instead of spending on the ones you buy at the supermarket freezer section, why not do it yourself with the kids?
You will need:
- Graham Cracker Squares or Vanilla Wafers or Cookies
- Yours or their favorite ice cream or yogurt ice cream, if you want to keep it a notch healthier
Here’s how:
- Grab 2 cracker squares/wafers/cookies for each serving
- Wedge in your favorite ice cream,
- Pile them up for an amusingly cool presentation and VOILA!
There you have it. Enjoy delightful & sweet bake-free desserts together with precious family time. Bon Appétit!
